Oak Framed Garden Kitchen in Winchester

Annexes

Background
We recently completed the construction of a beautiful Oak Framed Garden Kitchen in Winchester, blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design elements. The aim was to create an outdoor living space that seamlessly integrated with the natural surroundings while providing the client with a stylish and versatile kitchen for use throughout the year.

Solution
The project featured several key design elements to enhance both functionality and aesthetics:

  • Oak Framing: The oak frame was the focal point of the design, providing strength and visual appeal. The rich, natural tones added a timeless rustic charm to the space.
  • Directly Glazed Units: These units maximised natural light and provided panoramic views, complemented by an air-dried oak capping system for a refined finish.
  • Bi-Fold Doors: Two sets of aluminium bi-fold doors created a smooth transition between the kitchen and the outdoor living area, offering flexibility for all seasons.
  • Aluminium Roof Lantern: This feature brought in more natural light, helping to create a bright and airy atmosphere, even on overcast days.
  • Flat Roof & Sarnafil Finish: The roof was finished with Sarnafil, a high-performance, durable membrane that ensured long-lasting protection against the elements.

Outcome

The project exceeded the client’s expectations, resulting in a functional, elegant, and weather-resistant garden kitchen. The combination of traditional oak framing with modern design features, like aluminium bi-fold doors and a roof lantern, created a unique space ideal for outdoor entertaining.

We also worked closely with R & A Renewables to install a log burner, integrating the flue into the design without compromising the overall integrity.
